Why Some People Prefer to Use a Black Bass Guitar

For some reason, many people prefer to play on a black bass guitar than any other color. A big reason I have heard people explain for this is that the color gives the feel of the mood.

When people play rock or metal on a black guitar, they say it makes them feel more like a rock star. It gives that impression of ‘darkness’ that is always associated with rock and roll. I asked three people that use black guitars why they didn’t choose another look, and here is what they said:

“Using a black guitar really puts me in the metal mood and keeps me there. I couldn’t imagine using another guitar, I am very attached to this one. As a matter of fact, I truly believe that if I was using another color bass, I would not sound even half as good as I do now. It’s all a head thing I know, but I am going with it.”

“I started playing when I was a little kid. My first bass guitar was orange and at the time I thought it was cool. Well, as time went on and I got older I really started hating it. That is when I made a decision I would never have another ‘color’ besides black. It’s as simple as that.”

“Well, I actually own more than one guitar, but I use my black bass guitar the most and it’s just because I like the way it sounds the best. If one of my others sounded better, I would use it more instead.”
