Buying a Fender electric guitar

I know there have been many good Fender Electrics, want to find the best for myself. Love what John Fogerty can do, and many other classic players, I don't do metal music.
Do I look for new or find something on Ebay?

New guitars have no soul,find yourself a good used player with it's own mojo.Works for me lots of charachter to be found in a used axe.

You are correct and have checked with numerous veteren players that know both the new and the used. The used is a better choice.
