Dean ML XM Review

This is a review of the Dean ML XM electric guitar. It sells for about $169 at leading online retailers so if you're looking for a cheap electric guitar this is an option. This is also a great way for beginners to save. The price alone would indicate that this is not really a guitar for professionals. But for the price, it's worth it.

The Dean ML XM electric guitar is available in natural and black finishes. I prefer the natural finish. So what are the features of this Dean guitar? They include a v-style Paulownia body, rosewood fingerboard, mahogany finish, maple neck, Dean design humbucker pickups, die-cast tuners and String-thru design.

If you buy this guitar, be prepared to change the strings. It will make quite a difference. For a guitar of its class, the pickups are ok. But you can get so much more by changing them to let's say some Zakk Wylde EMG pickups, for instance. The good thing about this electric guitar is how easy it is to upgrade.

I've read some Dean ML XM reviews where reviewers complain about the tuners going out of tune easily. I don't think it's the tuners at all, but the nut. Simply open the nuts and ensure that they don't pinch the strings and your guitar will stay in tune.

Are you interested in playing metal but you don't want to dish out hundreds or even thousands of dollars for that experience? You've got it. This guitar is also good for hard rock or hardcore. Since it's so light you can have some really long practice sessions and not be strained.

All in all, a good guitar for the price. Whatever you're not satisfied with, you can always upgrade later.
