Dean MLX Electric Guitar Review
Dean MLX electric guitar Review
In this review, let's take a look at the Dean MLX electric guitar. Before we go any further let's list its features. And they are a basswood body,
24-3/4" scale & 1-11/16" nut, grover tuners, bolt-on construction, maple neck, dot inlays, 22 frets, chrome hardware, Zebra pickups and a tune-o-matic bridge. The guitar is available in classic black and trans brazilia burst finishes. My pick would have to be the brazilia burst finish.
If you're on a tight budget or a beginner, this is one guitar you can consider. It sells for about $199 at leading online musical instrument retailers like zzounds, musiciansfriend and music123. It isn't your top of the line high quality electric guitar but for the price, it's worth it. It's a cheap way to sound fairly good. For the price, the pickups are excellent. I like the crushing distortions on the bridge pickup. You can easily switch to the neck pickup and play some beautiful jazz and blues without the distorted sound. If you're looking for a meaty crunchy tone for metal/rock you've got it. And when you want that great crisp tone for clean, it's right there. Versatility to the max! My only wish is that it came with a Floyd Rose. It would have been so much cooler if it did. But for 199 you can't expect more. It's not sold with a case so you will have to buy one yourself. You can't use just about any case with it because of its distinct shape. A Dean case will do. The Dime332 gigbag by Washburn is an option. And when you want to turn the Dean MLX electric guitar into a screaming beast, add some Seymour Duncan Dimebucker and 59's or Bill Lawrence L500 and XL500's. Be sure to read other Dean MLX reviews to decide whether or not it meets your needs.
