Epiphone G-310 SG Ebony ReviewI bought this beautiful guitar as a 2nd guitar (my first electric). First the price was very reasonable. It may be on the expensive side for some but I think it's worth the money, which leads to my next point. The overall quality of this guitar is SUPERB. The body's wood is made of alder which is great for any genre with distortion, but also for crunchy or clean solos. If you're looking to play Gary Moore or anything heavy, I recommend this. The G-310 has a tune-o-matic bridge for adjustments, which you will probably never have to touch, and a fixed bridge which gives you great sustain without a lot of feedback or excess noise. This guitar uses factory standard passive pickups, which are of pretty good quality. The bridge pickup produce killer sounds for heavy riffs, and the neck pickup is great for solos. I do not recommend to change pickups unless you really really want to because I think you're better off buying a guitar with the pickups you want.
I bought this guitar with the Line 6 15 watt Spider III and the combination just blew me away. This is a perfect guitar for beginners or for professionals who need a good practice guitar for a reasonable price.
Epiphone has not failed me yet.
