Epiphone Les Paul Special II Review.

Epiphone Les Paul Special ii review

The first thing you would probably notice about the Les Paul Special ii is the fact that it's very cheap. It sells for about 150 bucks online. Who would buy such a guitar? Well I guess such a cheap guitar would be more suitable for beginners and students. Great for practice and just having fun. If you're just starting out and do not want to spend too much on a guitar this is an option. Then later on, when you're sure that this is what you want to do you can spend the extra bucks for something better.

Epiphone Les Paul Special II What are the features of the Epiphone Les Paul Special II? They include 2 open-coil humbuckers, tone, volume and pickup switch, a basswood body, bolt-on mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, as well as chrome hardware on a black finish. The guitar has a 24-3/4 inch scale as well as a 1-5/8 nut width.

Relatively speaking, this guitar is not bad at all. I don't think you will find any guitar better than this for the price. Compared to the cheap First Act and Squire guitars out there, this is a good choice. This is a guitar with very simple features, just what a beginner needs. More features might only get in the way of learning.

Everything is relative and while this guitar is a good option for a beginner, you should understand that it will have quite a few limitations since it's so cheap. While the action on the guitar is good, I found the fretboard to be too large and too cheaply made, the pickups were very weak as well.

You may have a problem with pickup grounding as well and the guitar can be pretty buzzy. There is only one volume and one tone control. As for the tone of the guitar, I'll give it an average rating.

Overall, if you only want to spend 150 bucks on a guitar, this is a good choice. Bottom line is that it works, and very well too. If you're looking for an affordable guitar of good enough quality, consider the Epiphone Les Paul Special II electric guitar.
