ESP LTD EX50 Electric Guitar Review
ESP LTD EX50 Review
Ok. This is where I review the ESP LTD EX50 electric guitar. First of all let's take a look at its features. They include 22 extra jumbo frets on a Rosewood fingerboard, a large, resonant body and hot ESP LH-100 humbuckers for superior tone, an Agathis body, a rock solid tune-o-matic bridge with a stop tailpiece, and black hardware.
It also includes volume, tone and 3-way toggle controls, a maple neck, dot inlays with model name at 12th fret, and bolt-on construction. The guitar has a scale of 24.75 inches.
The ESP LTD EX 50 electric guitar is available in metallic silver and black finishes. My favorite is the metallic silver.
Obviously, a long list of features. But how good are they?
Let me say that I think this electric guitar is absolutely worth the price. Sure there are obviously many guitars out there that are so much better. But for about $220, this is a good choice. This is a good beginners, or secondary guitar. If you're on a tight budget, this is one guitar you can look into.
Later on you will grow out of it and buy something of a higher quality but a good starters guitar. Or instead of buying a new guitar you can choose to upgrade it.
I tried this guitar with a line 6 and a marshall and it sounded pretty good to me. But for a better sound, if you buy this guitar, further down the road you may want to get some EMG or Seymour Duncan pickups. A Floyd Rose trem would also be great.
I've read reviews where some people claim to not like its shape. But I'm a huge fan. I guess it works for explorer fans. It's beautiful to look at when on stage and it's comfortable. I guess it has a lot to do with personal preferences.
I have a small issue with the weight of the ESP LTD EX50 electric guitar. I found it to be very neck heavy and it droops as a result. But this can be easily solved by wearing a strap that slides. This may not even be a problem for some but some people are very picky when it comes to weight.
For 220 dollars you can't expect a whole load of incredible features. But what this guitar does, it does well. Good for the price.
