Gibson CS 336 Review

Gibson cs 336 review

Here's my review of the Gibson Custom Shop CS 336 plain top electric guitar...

This guitar which sells for about $2,699 online is available in ebony, faded cherry, tangerine burst, and vintage sunburst. It's always good to have a few options to work with when it comes to finishes. That way you can choose what is right for you. I've seen it sold for more online so be sure to shop around for the best price.

Gibson CS 336 Electric Guitar The Gibson CS 336 electric guitar is actually a semi-hollowbody, but it performs like a solid body. It was created by Gibson's Custom, Art, and Historic Division.

The Gibson Custom Shop CS-336 Plain Top electric guitar comes with several great features. Some of its features include a carved top with f-holes, one-piece mahogany neck, one-piece hollowed mahogany back and rim, rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers, single-ply cream binding on top, back, and fingerboard, 2 volume controls, 2 tone controls, and a 3 way selector. If you're in search of a really woody tone, this is it.

Other features include 57 Classic humbuckers with nickel covers, ABRT bridge, stopbar tailpiece, nickel hardware and multi-ply bound pickguard. The guitar has a nut width of 1.687"/1.062" at the 12th fret, and a scale length of 24.75".

When it comes to sound, the Gibson CS 336 really delivers. With the right amplifier, expect this axe to do almost anything. I tried this guitar on a a JCM 900 1/2 stack, and a Mesa Road King w/ Road King Cabinet... Are you looking for serious dirt? You've got it. If you play Jazz and Blues you will be absolutely delighted with the CS-336. The CS336 is a tone machine with a rich, full sound. And to add to that, it also has excellent sustain.

However, when you buy this guitar you may find yourself having to do some adjustments in its setup so as to eliminate string buzzes. You would probably need an authorized technician to tweak it into shape. It all depends on your own personal style of playing.

Before buying this electric guitar be sure to check out other Gibson CS 336 reviews. Read various reviews, make comparisons, and choose what is best for you, depending on your budget and preferences.
