Gibson ES 137 Classic Review

Gibson ES 137 classic Review

Here's my review of the Gibson ES 137 Classic electric guitar. Firstly, I like the finishes that are available, including blue burst chrome hardware, heritage cherry sunburst chrome hardware, silver chrome hardware, and tri-burst chrome hardware. It makes it easy to find a finish that suits you. Last time I checked, you could buy one of these guitars for $1699.99 at a leading online musical instrument seller.

Gibson ES 137 Classic Electric Guitar Let's take a look at the features of the Gibson ES 137 Classic electric guitar. They include a laminated curly maple body, multiple bound body on top, single bound on back, 490R pickup in the rhythm position (same as on LP Studio or LP Custom), maple neck, mahogany center block to reduce feedback and add sustain, rosewood fingerboard, and pearloid trapezoid inlay.

Other features include a tune-o-matic bridge with stop tailpiece, bound fingerboard, 498T pickup in the treble position, body based on ES-135, 2 volume controls, 2 tone controls, and a 3-way switch. The guitar has a scale of 24-3/4, a nut width of 1.6875" and a "C" inlay at the 12th fret.

I really love the sound of the Gibson ES 137 Classic electric guitar. The one I had the privilege of playing was a heritage cherry sunburst ES-137 Classic. I was totally thrilled! Want a guitar that plays like a dream? This is it. Whether it's smooth jazz chord comping to full-throttle blues, this guitar delivers. I like the way the mahogany block construction helps to provide increased sustain and negate feedback issues.

I rate the ES 137 highly in terms of its construction, finish, playability, etc. The tone is incredible and it's gorgeous. This guitar far exceeded my expectations.

Like any other Gibson, the ES 137 is hand made from some of the best woods available. No matter what style of music you play, you will be delighted by its full rich tone.
