gibson L-6-S 1975

i have a gibson L-6-S 1975 black with ebony fret board all org. grover tuners 6way tone , I love this this axe. i called gibson gave them the ser# all they told me was that it was a special order and i should get it appraised and insured.Is this where it ends? would like some history , mayby someone famous ordered it or something.
