gibson les paul studio

I just purchased a left-handed gibson les paul studio serial # 93248587.
According to the site it should be a 98 made the 324th day.
It has dot markers on the fretboard which I read was only done for the first couple of years of production. 83-84.
Was this information wrong? Is my guitar a 98 model?
