What type of bass strings are safest and give the best tone on my vintage 60's Hofner Bass?

I own a 63 Hofner Beatle Bass and have tried or used several name brand strings for my bass. The one brand I always return to is the La Bella brand. They have a better tone and they last alot longer than the regular Hofner brand string. Give em a try and I'm sure you will like what you hear. If your looking for that deep round up-right bass sound, then the La Bella strings are it. P.S. If your Hofner bass is a 60's vintage like mine !! Do Not !! put round round strings on your bass. They will chew-up your frets and believe me, a fret job on a Hofner bass is very expensive. I know, I made that mistake and paid dearly for it.
