Ibanez ASB140 Review
Ibanez ASB140 Review
This is where I review the Ibanez ASB140 semi-hollow electric bass guitar. If you're looking for acoustic and electric features in one bass, by all means read on. You can find this bass online for about 430 bucks. If you do not want to put up the cash for more expensive basses like the American Fender or Warwick this is a great buy. I use this bass particularly for playing oldies, pop and rock covers but you can use it for all kinds of music including Jazz, new wave and country.
So what is so special about the Ibanez ASB140 electric bass guitar? Well it comes with some nice features. These include maple top, back and sides, 3 piece maple/mahogany set neck, 22 medium frets, passive EQ, rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, single humbucking pickup, and Gibraltar III Quick Change bridge/tailpiece. The Ibanez ASB 140 has a scale of 34 inches. You get some of the best features of vintage and modern electric basses as well as quality Ibanez craftsmanship. I like the sustain on this bass, thanks to the Gibraltar III Quick Change bridge/tailpiece. It also provides easy string changes.
If you want to get away from jazz basses or precision basses, you should look into buying this bass. Awesome bass. The only difference I would like to see in this bass is that Ibanez put another humbucking pickup in it. This would give it even more attitude and an even better sound. Otherwise the Ibanez ASB140 is great for the price. If you're looking for Warm hollow body sound, classic look, and great action at a low price, you can't go wrong with this one.
Overall I like this semi hollow electric bass and recommend it. If you're an intermediate player looking for acoustic and electric features in a bass, then go for it.
