Ibanez SRX400 Review
Ibanez srx400 review Here's my review of the Ibanez SRX400 electric bass. Let's start by looking at the various features it comes with. These include an SRX4 neck, 3 pc. maple neck material, 24 medium frets, soft maple body, B100 bridge, Pearl Dot Inlay, PFR-AL4N alnico magnet neck pickup, rosewood fingerboard and PHAT II active bass boost. If you're into heavy rock music, and want a bass that is affordable, consider this one. It sells for about 260 bucks at leading online retailers. This bass is pretty easy to use with just one volume and one tone knob. It only has one pickup so I guess it couldn't have any more controls. You certainly do not need an instruction model to figure this bass out. You may want to change the cheap little plastic controls; they look like they came from a toy guitar.I love the way the PHAT II feature gives it such a nice clean sound as well as a beautiful boost. The Ibanez SRX400 bass guitar has a very deep warm tone and is very loud. I tried it on a top of the line amp as well as a crappy 10 watt amp and it still sounded loud. Just what you need for rock music, but the Ibanez SRX 400 will handle other types of music. I probably wouldn't use it for light music. The lows and the highs are pretty amazing on this bass but the mids are average. One thing I really like about the Ibanez SRX400 is the fact that the humbucker pickups can be adjusted to sound similar to the "Music Man" sound. It may not be as super punchy as Music Man, but when properly adjusted the sound is pretty good. And you can even adjust the humbucker pickups to have a softer tone, something that can't be done with Music Mans. I found the Ibanez SRX400 to be very comfortable. I like the way the weight is distributed so evenly. If you love the feel of Fender Jazz basses, you will love this bass. The bass seems to be designed more for a pick player. I play using my fingers and it took me very long to find a suitable place to rest my thumb on the bass. This bass guitar has a fast neck and in my opinion the action is great. Overall, a great bass for the price. It's solid, with a good sound and a fantastic neck. If you're looking for a cheap (affordable) bass guitar and are into rock, punk, or funk or any kind of music that needs a lot of punch, I would recommend the Ibanez SRX400 to you.
