microphonic feedback

by andrew
(rialto, california, usa)

Im having a big problem with microphonic feedback. I havnt had this problem before i sold my fender deville 4x10. I have a 2003 american standard telecaster and now a vox ac15cc1, and for extra overdrive for when i need it i have a boss sd1 super overdrive pedal. When i practice with my band i have the master volume on the amp all the way up and the volume controll at around 1 or 2 oclock, and for the pedal the volume is at 12, overdrive also at 12 and tone about 3 oclock. so when the pedal is of everything is fine, but when i turn it on for my lead parts i get this loud screatching sound(microphonic feedback)that i cant controll. I heard that mabey it could be my pickups and they need to be waxed or somehting. but im not sure, how can i resolve this problem? It would be greatly aprechiated if anyone could answer this. thanks.

Telecaster squeal
by: iceman

I have come up with the fix for your telecaster squealing. go to lowes and get 3 nylon screws size #6 - 32. and replace your metal bridge pickup mounting screws with them. get some wire cutters and snip the ends of the nylon screws on a slight angle so the tips will go into the pickup screw holes, also, get the fender pickup height tubing, do not use the springs.

Unless your using a tremendous amount of gain, this should fix the problem.
