Schecter Bass Guitars
Schecter bass guitars are priced in the upper middle range and are made with quality and care. Their most popular bass guitars are those in the line called the Stiletto series. The 5 string model is a little larger than some basses, featuring a 35 inch scale, 24 frets, and a neck-through design. The body is made of an exotic wood known as Bubinga, and is finished in natural honey color in a satin finish.
The Studio line of Schecter bass guitars also includes a standard four string and an 8 string that features double octave tuning. Schecter basses are divided into the studio line and the elite line. The Schecter elite is reported to have a really great feel that bassists love. The action is supposed to be fast and the sound great. The hardware is first rate, too.
The Elite-4, which has four strings, has a good looking pearl diamond inlaid at the twelfth fret. The frets on this model are jumbo sized. The neck and fingerboard are made of multi-laminate maple with walnut and rosewood.
Another Schecter series are the Omen 4, 5, and 6. These too have 24 jumbo frets with a body of basswood and a 34 inch bolt on neck. The finish is walnut satin, and the suggested price is around $500. An even longer bolt on neck is found on the C-4 and C-5, which retail for $769. These basses have a body made of mahogany and figured maple, and are finished in a black cherry color.
The model of Schecter bass guitars called the CV-4 has a body of alder and lace wood, and comes in black cherry or amber. The Model T is a glossy four string bass that has a 34 inch bolt on neck and alder body. It retails for $869 and is available in shiny black or a cool vintage butterscotch color with black pick guard.
