The best lightweight bass guitar

I'm a chick, with not so strong arms and shoulders, but I'm determined to play an electric bass. What's a good quality bass that is lightweight?

Try and find a Fender Precision Lyte Deluxe model if you can. It will always hold its resale value.

Also, look into a Yamaha RBX4 A2. They were produced for a short period but may still be available in stock at some stores.

The 4 string Basstar travel bass has a 34" scale length, which is full size, and weighs around 4 lbs. It plays like every other bass, and sounds good. Price is around $169 to $199 USD. They also make a 4 string fretless, a 5 string, and a 5 string fretless.
The hollow body Beatle basses such as the Hofner Icon, Jay Turser, and others have a 30" scale and weigh around 5 lbs. Prices range from $199 to $399 USD.

A Squier Bronco bass is extremely light and simple to play. It sounds okay for a beginner bass guitar.

Rogue and Epiphone make violin basses similar to McCartney's Hofner that are light.

The Hohner B2B is a headless bass with a full scale neck. About 6 lbs. Has a P-J Pickup arrangement and stays in tune nicely. It looks very '80's so that could be either a good thing or not depending on how you swing.
